How Many Calories In Paella

CAMPAIGN 2007 - 2008 Campaign

Every year, hundreds of organizations around the world will join the Campaign "Blue October", one of the most important actions to prevent water control by corporate interests. October has a special meaning for those who defend the water as a right to life , October 1, 2004 because the Uruguayans managed by its Constitution Referendum recognize access to water as a fundamental human right and it does not commodified.

Access to water is a right as a precondition for the exercise of other rights. Currently, however, is severely threatened by global warming, the so-called "biofuels" and industrial pollution; practices mercantilist only reaffirm the desire of large corporations that only seek profit and not the welfare of the entire population. To this are added a number of consumer habits that make use water without conscience you can run out. Therefore, now more than ever necessary to raise awareness about its use as a common good that must be cared for future generations and nature.

In Bolivia, since 2006 we have promoted the campaign Blue October with a series of activities and participation of various social organizations, public institutions and networks committed to the issue at national level. Among the priority objectives and agreed upon in these activities include: making a critique of capitalist development model as it is primarily responsible for the environmental crisis, mobilize and sensitize the Bolivian population on the importance of water to life on the planet, analyze, reflect and propose solutions to current threats most concern relating to water (global warming, biofuels, infrastructure projects such as the "mega-dam" Wood River, the pollution, water access, etc.)..

In this sense, the Solon Foundation invites organizations, groups, institutions, networks and social and cultural groups to join the campaign Blue October in Bolivia initiative with activities own or coordinated to generate a greater impact nationally and internationally.
